About Us
FAIRMUN IS AN ANNUAL MUN CONFERENCE HELD IN FAIRVIEW INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL KUALA LUMPUR
This event is a Model United Nations (MUN) event, consisting of multiple councils that simulate real MUN councils. The councils then debate on real-world issues such as creating a usable framework for the use of drones. Each council consists of delegates (participants) which represent a different country and the views and stance of that country. The event allows for participants to be more open to the events that take place throughout the world, while also increasing personal attributes such as public speaking, and creative thinking. The event also allows participants to understand the overall situation and hardships that take place within the real UN council.
ULTIMA THULE
Thule is the farthest north location in ancient Greek and Roman literature, thus Ultima Thule is a Latin phrase that when directly translated means “farthermost Thule” has acquired a metaphorical meaning of any distant place located beyond the “borders of the known world”.
The year 2020 is the beginning of the new decade, one that comes with endless possibilities. There is no exhaustive list of what is to come, not knowing what is going to change in the next decade.
Our aim is to subvert current ideals and beliefs by creating topics that challenges the world today, in hopes that the current generation can think beyond what they have known about the world and reinvent society the way they think it should be in the future.

Going Digital
With the ongoing pandemic and government restrictions, we would like to bring FairMUN into the digital world.
This year, there were many unknowns, including the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to many uncertainties and for us to practice proper social distancing until there is a proper vaccine or until large gatherings can once again be a "thing", we decided to bring the MUN scene into the digital world.
Furthermore, with the minimal costs of an online conference, we have decided that half of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.
Join us as we move beyond the unknown and find solutions to modern problems.
